Studio Burran

The Studio

Rooted in a legacy of design, Studio Burran is guided by timeless principles that value classical proportion, expert craftsmanship, and a unified harmony of materials, all in service of elevating our clients’ everyday lives. Our philosophy draws from East Coast sophistication, the ease of a California lifestyle, and the refinement of Japanese design principles.

With the goal of transcending modern and traditional labels, our approach to every project is a unique reflection of our client’s spirit, informed by their rituals and aspirations—translated into a landscape that is layered, thoughtful, and balanced. We develop warm, gracious spaces that feel effortless, grounded, and enduring, blending heritage forms and intuitive function with cultural nuance to meet the rhythms of modern life. Through our design process, we offer our clients a partnership in realizing a lifestyle that fosters a deep connection to one’s environment through an emphasis on light, open space, and natural expression of materials.

We redefine the expected: simplicity without sterility, calmness without emptiness, and functionality without compromise.

The Designer

Founded by Eric Wilcox, Studio Burran takes its name from Eric’s grandfather, the late architect James A. Burran, whose mastery of light and space instilled in him a deep appreciation for the way thoughtful design shapes our daily lives.

Prior to founding Studio Burran, Eric served as Director of Global Store Development at Ralph Lauren in New York City, spearheading the design and construction of many of the brand’s most recognizable properties, including the timeless Manhattan institution, The Polo Bar, as well as a fleet of international flagship stores spanning from Fifth Avenue to Abu Dhabi and Shanghai.

After relocating to Los Angeles in 2015, Eric worked with Michael Smith Inc., developing private art collections and sourcing vintage and antique interior elements. He went on to join Marmol Radziner, evolving their interiors studio and shepherding dozens of residential projects throughout the country.

Eric’s work for these firms has been published in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, California Homes, The Local Project, and Wallpaper, substantially contributing to their continued recognition in the renowned AD100 list.
